Brazilian High School Project

CONCEPT
Proposal for the development of a public-school complex located in an area with a lack of educational facilities in the city of Taubaté, São Paulo State. Based on the standards and dimensions provided by the FDE (Foundation for Education Development) for public constructions for educational purposes in Brazil.

The parti of the building shell was conceived through a study of the terrain as well as the effects of insolation, aiming at the highest thermal and visual comfort for the students. Vertical circulation also had a significant impact on the design. The ramp acts as secondary access, providing a shade for the central atrium and, by its dimensions, creating an additional living space, while
still retaining accessibility to the second floor by means of stairs and elevators.
